The alleged former bagman of Vice President Sara Duterte Ramil Madriaga is willing and ready to testify in impeachment proceedings in case he is required by Senate, Congress, or the Ombudsman.

In a news forum, Madriaga's counsel Atty. Raymund Palad said Madriaga is ready in case he gets a subpoena.

"The fact na nag-issue sya ng affidavit, pwede sya ipatawag sa Kongreso, Senado at Ombudsman. Yung willingness niya, yes, kung maka receive sya ng subpoena, mag-appear sya," he said.

Palad admitted he was surprised Madriaga's affidavit was used in the impeachment complaints.

He said he only learned about the inclusion of the affidavit in impeachment via news reports.

"Yung pagsama ng affidavit sa impeachment, hindi ko alam yon. Kung isinama pala yon, at least nand'yan na siya," Palad said.

In his affidavit, Madriaga accused the vice president of using money from POGOs and drug dealers for her 2022 campaign.

Palad also said Congresswoman Leila de Lima asked if she can interview Palad without referencing on the impeachment.

"Confirm ko rin na one time nagrequest si former Senator Trillanes na kung pwedeng bisitahin si Ramil, pag-uusapan yung affidavit niya, and of course we allowed him to visit," he added.

Palad said they will file an application for the Witness Protection Program because of threats to his life.
