MANILA — The Land Transportation Office has issued separate show cause orders to riders who participated in the Boss Ironman Cup held in Mindanao earlier this month.

This follows an initial investigation into incidents posted on across social media platforms, news publications and police reports, which revealed multiple serious traffic violations linked to the event.

Violations include exceeding the maximum speed limit, unauthorized use of blinkers, sirens and aftermarket auxiliary lights, obstruction of traffic flow, reckless driving, disregard for mandated vehicle handling protocols, improper person to operate a motor vehicle, property damage, and injuries to pedestrians and bystanders.

The LTO ordered all directed riders to appear before its Intelligence and Investigation Division and submit their verified or sworn comments/explanations, along with supporting documents. They may also be assisted by legal counsel during proceedings.

The LTO earlier recommended the suspension of Boss Ironman Motorcycle Challenge (BIMC) during a hearing, following several traffic violations and road crash incidents linked to the event.
